This year’s theme—Force of Change— doesn’t just represent us—it demands something from us. It’s a charge for us to use our voices, our stories, our art to ignite something real. Something lasting.

But let’s be real: they shouldn’t have to be this brave just to exist.

Right now, nonprofits—organizations like Hispanic Federation that powers FUERZAfest—that run shelters, food banks, schools, youth programs—are under attack. Instead of funding community care, some in Congress are trying to kill it.

A new proposal would give political appointees the power to label any nonprofit—a queer youth center, a local drag story hour, even a community choir—as “terror-supporting.” No due process. Just... gone. That’s not only dangerous— It’s a direct attack on our safety and rights.

And We CANNOT STAY SILENT!  We will not be bystanders.

TAKE ACTION

Call or email your Member of Congress. Tell them to oppose efforts like Section 112209—formerly HR 9495, the so-called “Nonprofit Killer.”

Tag your elected officials. Make sure they hear your voice—loud, clear, and unapologetic to vote NO on Section 112209 and to #SaveOurOrgs.

Call for Action

Text it to five people. Ask them to act. Our power grows when we rise together. Nonprofits are not the threat—they’re the essential backbone of community care. They feed us, heal us, teach us, and lift us.

Let’s move with purpose. Let’s be the force of change our communities deserve.
